How do I assemble my Stokke® Nomi®?
To save transport cost and reduce the CO2 emission, your Stokke® Nomi® chair comes unassembled. But it’s an easy fix, just follow the steps in the assembling guide – Allen keys (one in the assembling kit bag, two integrated under the footrest) are included and it’s only 6 screws that need to be tightened.
You can also watch the Stokke® Nomi® video assembling guide in the section "How To" on the product page.Note: ALWAYS use the supplied Allen keys, as Power tools might damage components due to wrong torque setting or wrong bits used ruining the drive on the assembling screws, and such flaws are not covered by the guarantee. Remember to check and retighten the screws after 2 weeks of use, as wood and plastics need to climatize.
-
Where are the small Allen keys located?
The Small Allen keys are located under the footrest. The large Allen key comes in the bag with 6 screws and 2 pin bolts.
-
I can't get the seat/footrest to be stable against the stem, am I doing something wrong?
Make sure the adjustment handle is correct threaded, then check the plastic washer is placed correctly with the curved side against the wood of the stem and the groove against the handle. If the handle is overtightened, insert a liner in the handle drive to get proper torque momentum to loosen it.
-
Why are the 6 assembling screws hard to tighten and counter tighten?
We have chosen to treat all Stokke®Nomi® screws with Tuflok® blue coloured glue, which prevents the screws from loosening up over time and reduces the need to retighten the screws. It takes a little more effort to turn these screws, and you must counter-tighten the four screws in the foot of the chair (with the large Allen Key). This ensures the best possible safety and reduces the need to retighten the screws. Note: Do not use power tools for assembling your Nomi, as their torque might damage the components.
-
The two screws in the backrest are hidden and tricky to insert, any short cuts?
Start by attaching the foot cross properly, then turn the chair upside down with the foot cross over your shoulder – insert the two screws and finger tighten, use the small Allen key located under the footplate for proper tightening.
-
How do I attach the adjustment handle?
Don't force the knobs, you can potentially cross thread them. Gently turn to lock onto threading and turn clockwise until tightened. Be sure to turn the washer correctly – it fits into the adjustment handle. Be aware that the handles come attached to the bolts, so the thread and gates are checked prior to boxing. Any flawed thread is therefore the result of wrong assembling.
-

-

Yes, the the Stokke® Nomi® chair and the Stokke® Nomi® Newborn Set have Extended Warranties when registered. The Stokke® Nomi® chair has a 7-year warranty and the Stokke® Nomi® Newborn Set has a 3-year warranty from the purchase date.
Stokke® Nomi® chairs and the Stokke® Nomi® Newborn Sets produced until 2023 might not come with a serial number sticker. If that is the case, you would still be able to register your products for the Extended Warranty, but you would need to leave the serial number fields blank during registration and hold onto your proof of purchase in case of future warranty claims. The Extended Warranty is only valid along with the original proof of purchase.
-
Where do I find the serial number for my warranty registration?
Turn your Nomi upside down, the unique Stokke® Nomi® serial number is printed on the sticker located under the seat plate.
If your Nomi® chair was purchased before or during 2023, it is possible your Nomi® chair does not have a unique serial number. -
Is it possible to remove the warning labels from the Stokke® Nomi® Newborn and Stokke® Nomi® Highchair?
We agree, they are not contributing to aesthetics, but they are mandatory, and we must follow the exact rules and requirements in the Safety Standards and federal rules (US). That includes colours, location, and size of the warnings, and it all must be done by the book. You have probably seen them on many other baby products such as a car seat or bassinet-it’s just something that we must deal with. Just take comfort in the fact that the reasoning behind bold warning labels is to keep babies safe.
Note: By attempting to remove the warning labels from your Stokke® Nomi® products, you may damage the product and VOID the Stokke® guarantee.
-

-

-
Can we use the Stokke® Harness for Nomi® without the Stokke® Nomi® Baby set?
Unfortunately not, as the Baby set supports the infant, where the harness only delivers fixation.
-
We have bought our second Stokke® Nomi® - why do the new wooden center stem look different when comparing with the old?
Wood is a natural product and tends to get patinated when exposed to sunlight and daily usage. The age of the three when harvested and the different soils also affects the look, therefore the color and character of each stem is unique like a fingerprint – and not even two new stems are identical, due to this. It’s the beauty of a natural product and the expression will align over time.
-
Can I refresh an oiled wooden stem?
Yes, disassemble and sand (by hand) in the length direction with grain 200+, use acid free oil – fx grape or corn seed oil.
Note: The stained stems are treated with harmless EN71/3 compliant water-based stain. If refurbished, sand it and use a similar stain. -
I have lost a Stokke® Nomi® component – can I order a spare part?
Yes. Please contact our customer service by using the contact form. They will inform you about prices and availabilities.
-
What is the correct setting of the Stokke® Nomi® footplate and seat?
When using the Stokke® Nomi® Baby set (6-36 months) the seat is to be in the upper position. Same goes for the footplate, while securing the angle between the lower and the upper leg is 90 degrees, with a flat foot on the footrest. This secures the child’s free movement (active sitting philosophy) while stimulating and activating the vene pumps and stimulating the child’s motorically skills.
-
How do I clean the Stokke® Nomi®?
The polypropylene plastic parts are extreme stain resistant, just use a damp cloth with a mild detergent.
Note: Do not overexpose the wooden stem to water, as the wood will expand and delaminate over time. -
Can I put components into the dishwasher?
The Stokke® Nomi® Baby set and the Stokke® Tray for Nomi® can be dish washed on care/glass program (max 40 degrees celcius/104 Fahrenheit).
