A snug but comfortable harness is important for good crash protection. If there is slack in the harness at the time of a crash the child could move unrestrained increasing the risk of injury. With the chest clip placed at armpit level, pinch the strap at your child’s shoulder. If you are unable to pinch any excess webbing, you’re good to go

The Stokke® PIPA™ by Nuna® car seat comes with an infant insert and an optional foam pad that is placed in a pocket on the backside of the infant insert. If the harness seems very tight, remove the foam pad.

Stokke® PIPA™ by Nuna® is certified for a 4 lb. child (low birth weight baby). The purpose of the newborn foam pad is to put the smallest sized child in the most ideal position when in the car seat. In some cases, depending on the size of the child, that extra foam may never be needed. The harness length is appropriate for the full range of intended use.

When using this car seat always check the shoulder harness is at or below the child's shoulder levels and the top of the child's head must be at least 1 inch below the top of the seat back.

For an infant that is rear facing, the harness straps should be even with or just below the baby's shoulder level.

The Stokke® PIPA™ by Nuna® car seat is compatible with Stokke® Xplory® from SN 102AA0331324 or higher, Stokke® Crusi™, Stokke® Trailz™ and Stokke® Scoot™ from SN 118AA0040683 or higher. The Stokke® PIPA™ by Nuna® car seat is compatible only with Stokke® strollers

Seat pad: The seat pad and the insert can be machine washed gently at 105 F. Remove the foam pad from the insert before washing. Do not bleach or dry clean. Do not tumble dry or iron. Do not use undiluted detergent, or other solvent to wash the infant car seat. It may cause damage to the infant car seat. Do not twist the seat pad to dry with great force. It may leave the seat pad wrinkled. Hang dry the seat pad in the shade. 
 
Seat shell: Use only mild detergent, water and a soft cloth to clean the car seat shell, handle and harness straps. Air dry. 
 
Buckles: Rinse using warm water. DO NOT use any soaps, solvents or lubricants. Using anything other than water can cause the buckle to malfunction. Thoroughly Air dry. 
 
Storage: Remove the infant car seat from the vehicle seat if not in use for a long period of time. Put the infant car seat in a cool, dry place and somewhere your child can not access it.

The Stokke® PIPA™ by Nuna canopy has a UV factor of 50. However, the canopy does not cover body parts such as hands and feet.

The seat pad textile on Stokke® PIPA™ by Nuna® is black mélange, and it is possible to choose between a Black Mélange or Black canopy.
